Common Ancestor Search

Common Ancestor Search may be done after you have signed up for an account.  Check the "How to sign up for an account" page, if you need assistance.  The purpose of the search is to help you spot recessive hereditary conditions. You can add up to 6 animals and choose up to 10 generations to review. The search will return all the ancestors they have in common.

Common ancestor 1

Step 1

1.  Select Search in the menu bar.

2.  Select "common ancestors" from the pull down menu.

Step 2

The pedigree analysis page will appear.  Start typing the registered name of the dog (a.), (not the call name) or registration number of the dog and a list of possible matches will appear.  The more you type the more refined the list will become.

Set the number of generations (b.) you want the tool to review. Then click the "Analyze" button. The information returned is searching for the common ancestor across all the dogs in the list.
